Wax is an ideal medium for making models for both production and custom jewelry work. Wax can be carved, formed, machined, drilled, sawed, or melted into a design. A wax model may be presented to clients for approval, yet still allow for modifications prior to casting. Students execute a series of graduated projects in a variety of waxes while learning design transfer, layout, build-up, and carving. 24 hours
