Wire Wrapped Ring
| 9 am - 6 pm | $199 + $60 kit |
Instructor: Michael David Sturlin
Here is an opportunity to explore the popular technique of wire wrapping and take the concept of wire working to a whole new level. This minimalist approach to jewelry making enables anyone to produce innovative work with just a few basic tools, using readily available materials. Participants will develop a deeper understanding of the process and gain new fluency with the material under the guidance of an expert instructor. Students create five classic wire wrapped ring designs with a modern twist: rosette, spiral, joined knots, crossed bands, and adjustable band rings. These practical exercises cover the processes of forming armatures for rings and adding decorative embellishments; wrapping basket weave and lattice borders. 8 hours
This elective will not be offered this semester. Please check back next term.
