Fold forming is a collection of techniques pioneered and developed by the instructor. The system employs metal’s plasticity and ductility to rapidly make complex forms resembling chased, constructed and soldered shapes (in just 3-5 minutes) from a sheet of metal. The tools are simple: fingers, hammers, mallets, an anvil, vise, and rolling mill. Fold forming has been recognized as a completely new approach to metalworking by the Rolex Awards for Enterprise and by the Head of the British Museum’s Conservation Lab. Open to all levels.
