Stone Setting & Saw Piercing

Expand your skills to incorporate the traditional techniques of saw piercing in setting stones. Learn to make and customize tools for a variety of setting techniques, including burnished, flush, and bead setting, plus setting from behind. Saw piercing is then used to lighten and open the setting, while adding ornamental detail. Students are encouraged to bring their own stones and settings so the instructor can demonstrate how these techniques can work for your designs. Prerequisite: Fabrication 2 or experience.
