Programs & Classes
The Open Session is offered twice a yeconsists of Revere Academy’s topic specific, workshop-style classes. Some classes have requirements which are noted at the end of each description. Those required for the Jewelry Technician / Jewelry Technician Intensive diploma are marked with (JT), and those required for the Graduate Jeweler diploma are marked with (GJ).
Revere’s Jewelry Technician program includes 11 classes that successively build on bench skills, trade practices, and has been designed to give you all the essential skills to make jewelry. This option involves taking classes individually at your own pace, during one or more semesters of our Open Session.
The Jewelry Technician Intensive program offered twice a year (May-June and October-December) combines the 11 JT Classes into one full-time 8-week course. The two-month JTI Program, led by Alan Revere, is the most effective way to build the skills and confidence to succeed as a bench jeweler. The JTI meets Monday-Friday for 8 hours each day and includes 2 hours of open studio time daily to practice what you learn.
The Graduate Jeweler program is for those who want a complete experience in jewelry. It is ideal for designers, entrepreneurs and those serious about a career with the potential to grow in many areas. The program includes everything in the Jewelry Technician course plus 11 more classes for a total of 22 classes.
Since 1998, the Academy has hosted an annual Masters Symposium in April, inviting prominent master craftsmen from across the country and overseas to teach workshops in their areas of specialization. These classes are available to anyone who meets the specified prerequisites.
