Refund Policy
for Tuition and Other Fees
Effiective April 1, 2008

REFUNDS, less a $50 non-refundable registration fee and applicable kit fees, are processed within 30 days of receipt of written notification, provided no more than 50% of course hours have been completed. After 50% of class, no refunds.

Open Session Classes
• •Up to 2 business days before class: Tuition less cancellation fee of $50 per class.
• Less than 2 business days before class: Tuition less late cancellation fee of $100 per class.
• After class begins: Pro-rated tuition less dropout fee of $250 per class.
• Each class change will incur a $25 administrative fee.

Jewelry Technician Intensive
• After 3 business days and before August 15, 2008: Tuition less cancellation fee of $500.
• After August 15, 2008 and before program begins: Tuition less cancellation fee $1,000.
• After program begins: Pro-rated tuition less $1,750.
• Each class change will incur a $25 administrative fee.

Masters Symposium
• Within 3 business days of application: Full refund.
• After 3 business days and before March 15, 2008:
5-day class tuition less $250 cancellation fee or 2-day class, tuition less $100 cancellation fee.
• After March 15, 2008: No refunds.

Student Tuition Recovery Fund
Under the Education Code, Section 94343, California law requires that a fee be assessed upon enrollment in relation to the cost of tuition. These fees support the Student Tuition Recovery Fund (STRF), a special fund established by the California Legislature to reimburse students who might otherwise experience a financial loss as a result of untimely school closure. Students may be reimbursed by STRF only for prepaid but unused tuition monies. Only students enrolled on the date of an untimely school closure are eligible to apply for a refund from the STRF. The Fund protects only California residents. Institutional participation is mandatory.

It is important that enrollees keep a copy of an enrollment agreement, contract or application to document enrollment, tuition receipts or cancelled checks to document the total amount of tuition paid, and records that will show the percentage of the course which has been completed. Such records would substantiate a claim for reimbursement from the STRF. Claims must be filed within 60 days of closure. For more information or instructions, contact:
