 Revere Holds Tenth Masters Symposium

Plique-á-Jour Enameling & Filigree Wirework, Japanese Inlay, Textile Techniques in Metal, Argentium®, and Dental Techniques are five of the subjects offered during the Revere Academy’s 2007 Masters Symposium held from April 7th through April 29th. The Academy will host eight master crafts people from around the world teaching 2 and 5-day workshops in their specialized areas. Classes are offered at all levels, from absolute beginner to advanced.

This year, Japanese master metalsmith, Naohiro Yamada will travel across the Pacific to teach traditional Japanese Inlay and Engraving techniques. Arline Fisch, author of Textile Techniques in Metal will demonstrate the specialized methods she employs in her unique work. Cynthia Eid will teach the first class at Revere on working with Argentium®, the new sterling alloy. Ms. Eid will instruct students on how to make sophisticated three-dimensional forms in her class, Hydraulic Press for Jewelry. Plus, Harold O’Connor will teach avant-garde techniques for inlaying metal into other materials in a new class, Dental Techniques for Jewelers.

This is a rare opportunity to learn from the very best artisans in the areas of their greatest expertise. Each week during the Masters Symposium, the Academy will host a Wednesday evening slide/reception for visiting masters, which is open to the public.

The Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts is located in downtown San Francisco’s historic Phelan Building. Schedules, information and a free video tour are available upon request from the Revere Academy of Jewelry Arts, 760 Market Street, Suite 900, San Francisco, Ca 94102.  Tel: 415-391-4179 Web Site: www.revereacademy.com  E-mail: info@revereacademy.com Fax: 415-391-7570
