Bench jewelers need to understand the mechanics of fasteners. Guided by a Swiss master goldsmith, students learn eight closures in just five days! Starting with a basic ring catch, the class proceeds through a series of graduated closures including a slide clasp, a tab bracelet, an egg clasp, a ball-and-slot clasp, a bayonet clasp and more. The instructor will demonstrate important individual steps at the bench himself. Prerequisite: Fabrication 3 or experience. Felix will also teach Action Jewelry, April 26-27 |
