Explore how fabrication techniques like soldering, etching and cold connections lead to design concepts that can be applied to an assemblage approach to jewelry making. Start with photographs and images (old, new or from magazines) and found objects such as buttons, heirloom jewelry or whatever you find in the street, in nature, or from industrial material sources. Then incorporate these into the design and fabrication of a personal wearable “surrealist” expression. Prerequisite: Fabrication 1 or experience. Thomas will also teach Design ƒor Survival, April 15-18. |
